The Cause Of Snoring And How To Cure It

If you and your spouse suffer from horrible snoring, You are not alone. 23% couples suffer seriously from this terrible condition.

The problem isn't just the irritation of staying awake the whole night or waking up from a souse's elbow over and over again. Not getting enough rest is simple life threatening.

If you drive a car or cross a street, for example, you’ve to have full attention and energy.

It’s also life threatening because your whole emotional and physical balance will suffer. Nerves breakdown, stroke, and heart-attack are only three examples.

You’ve probably tried several things to eliminate this devastating condition. You would probably do anything to get a good night sleep. But you haven’t had any success, have you?

To be able to cure your snoring, you must know what causes it.

There is only one underlying cause for snoring. There are always some kind of blockages in the breathing passages, which make the airflow irregular.

When the breathing passage is blocked, the airflow (breathing) becomes irregular, not smoothly flowing like it should be.

This irregular airflow slams the soft tissues in your breathing passages around like a door in a wind. Your throat and mouth become like speakers, powered by powerful quantifier and your partner can’t sleep.

The noise becomes really bad when the soft palate (a flexible part of the back of the roof of the mouth) also begins to vibrate. Sometimes, if the soft palate is weak, then the tip of it will bang down on the tongue (which may be dropping into the throat at the same time) like a bongo drum.

The real loud sound happens when the soft palate (the flexible back part of the roof of the mouth) starts to vibrate. And sometimes the tip of it will even start beating on the tongue (which may also be falling into the throat) like a drum.

It can be very complicated to cure snoring despite the fact, it only has one main cause. The reason is that the blocks vary so much. And what’s worse, most people have more than one type of block, causing their snoring.

Here are just few examples of what can cause your snoring…

1) If your throat is weak, it will close like a squeezed plastic bottle. This is believed to be the no1 cause of sleep apnea.

2) Weak tongue also falls into the throat and block it. This is very common if you sleep on your back but can also happen when sleeping on your site.

3) Tense jaw muscles put pressure on the breathing passages. This is what many dentist try to deal with by putting in dental implant. An easier way to avoid this is loosing up and relaxing the jaw muscles.

3) The Jaw may press on the breathing passage narrowing it. Often this is because of tension in the muscles around the Jaw that press it out of its normal healthy position.

4) Floppy, weak soft palate bang around like leaf in a wind. Some snoring surgeries deal with this by cutting of part of the soft palate or putting small plastic implants in it to make it firmer. Simple moving it in the right way few times a day will keep it firm and prevent it from flopping.

6) Anything that builds up in the throat like far or tar from cigarettes. This will block the throat.

These are only 6 common blocks but there are many more.

Of course there can be endless other kinds of blocks in the breathing area.

But the big question is; how can we get rid of these blocks?

I guess when you look at it, it’s just a common sense. I’ve found that you can train this part of your body like any other part. Working out the breathing passages.

You’re of course not going for a heavy workout. You don’t kill a fly on your friends head with a sledge hammer. I’m talking about light, easy, simple exercises that get your breathing passage in top shape.

This is very fragile area so the exercises are fine tuned and do not demand much effort, only commitment for few weeks.

Using few exercises, each focused on one area in and around your throat, will remove ANY block you have. No matter what’s causing your snoring.

You’ll actually strengthen and open up the whole breathing passage, from your throat up to the nasal opening.

What you will do is strengthening the whole breathing passage and the area around it.

Loosing up the Jaw, using the jaw exercises will remove any tension from it. You’ll be surprised how much easier you’ll breath after you do the Jaw exercises.

The neck and shoulder exercises do the last trick. They remove tension from your neck and shoulders. Tension there leads to tension in all muscles around your head and throat. So it’s very good to loosen these muscles up.

And finally, the throat exercises will strengthen the throat and lift the soft palate.

The Training Doesn't Take Much Effort

For even quicker and better results, commit to 7-12 minutes a day and see what happens. The results are permanent, so once you’re cured, you never have to do this again.

I’ve seen people treat their snoring in as little as couple of days. Few weeks is more the norm tough. If you commit to 7-12 minutes a day for couple of months, you’re pretty much guaranteed to be snore free before that time is up.

It varies a lot between people how quickly the exercises work. I recommend that you be ready to work the program for two months. The program will most likely stop your snoring quicker than that. But if you’re ready to give it full blast for two months, you’re guaranteed to cure your self.

Snoring is putting such a strain on many relationships. Many people have been forced to sleep separately. Other have learned to live with it but there is always a hidden resentment. I hope you give the exercises a try. I hope you give me the benefit of the doubt to try commit to working the exercises for few weeks. And I promise you, there will be nothing but quiet, restful nights in your future.

Learn To Stop Snore

If you and your spouse suffer from horrible snoring, You are not alone. 23% couples suffer seriously from this terrible condition.

It’s not just the irritation of the snoring sound or how draining it is to stay awake all night long listening to a partner snore (it’s the most common form of Insomnia). The worst part is risking your or your partners life by being tired all day long.

It is life threatening for example when you loose your focus in a heavy traffic during the day. In our modern world, loosing focus for few seconds is a straight way to an accident.

Not only that. The physical and emotional site-effects of not getting enough sleep can be something like nerves breakdown, stroke or heart attacks. Just to name few.

You can’t blame your self or your partner. You’ve probably tried several things to eliminate the snoring but nothing helped. I’ve had many clients who undertook expensive, dangerous surgery, only to find them self worse off afterwards.

For you to understand exactly where I’m coming from, before I tell you what will work for you, let me explains what is causing you to snore.

Snoring is always caused by some kind of blockage in the breathing passage.

When the breathing passage is blocked, the airflow (breathing) becomes irregular, not smoothly flowing like it should be.

The irregular airflow causes the soft tissues in the breathing passages to flap. And that flap causes the snoring sound. It’s like a door slamming in and out in a wind.

The noise really gets loud when the soft palate (soft part at the back of the upper part of the mouth) begins to flap around. This most often happens when the soft palate is weak (not too big like most people claim).

Examples of what can cause snoring...

1) The throat may be weak and close down when sleeping. This is the most common cause of sleep apnea, very serious condition where snoring is just a one sign.

2) Your tongue may drop into your throat when you sleep and block it. The tongue is a muscle and if that muscle is weak, then it’s more likely to drop into the throat.

2) The tongue often falls into the throat, when it is too weak, and blocks it. This may happen even if you sleep on your side.

4) I mentioned the soft palate before. If it is weak, then it will flap around more easily and make the snoring sound. Notice that most of the time, the soft palate is not too big. It’s too weak.

5) I often say, ‘no muscle is an island’ … meaning, every muscle in your body is interconnected. If you’ve tense shoulders or neck, all the muscles around your throat will be more tense and put pressure on it. The same way as if you squeeze a plastic bottle.

6) Finally, anything that builds up in your throat will work as a dam for your breathing passage. The most common dams are fat or cigarette tags in the throat or allergy in the nasals.

6) Anything that might gather in the throat, like fat or tar from cigarette smoke, will narrow the throat and cause snoring.

I’ve of course only named few causes but there are endless other.

But the big question is; how can we get rid of these blocks?

The beauty of working out your breathing passage is that the same exercises will work for what ever may be blocking your throat.

What you will do is strengthening the whole breathing passage and the area around it.

By doing simple throat exercises your soft palate and the whole area from bellow your voice box up into your nasals and everything in-between will be strengthened and refreshed. Plus it will clean the throat of any fat or tar.

Strengthening your tongue prevents it from falling into your throat.

Loosing up your Jaw muscles stops it from pressing on the breathing passage. You’ll be amazed how much more easy your breathing will be after you train your jaw muscles.

The throat exercises open up the throat, preventing it from closing when you sleep. They’ll also strengthen and lift up your soft palate, so it won’t flap any more.

This is only small example how you can exercise your breathing passage.

How much effort you want to put into this is up to you. Training for as little as 3 minutes will do the trick.

How long you exercise every day is up to you. You can train for as little as three minutes a day.

I’ve seen people treat their snoring in as little as couple of days. Few weeks is more the norm tough. If you commit to 7-12 minutes a day for couple of months, you’re pretty much guaranteed to be snore free before that time is up.

Snoring is putting such a strain on many relationships. Many people have been forced to sleep separately. Other have learned to live with it but there is always a hidden resentment. How to Effectively Stop Snoring

There are numerous remedies and cures out there on how to stop snoring. In fact, there are so many that it can be quite confusing to choose the right one. There are many easy and inexpensive ways to start today to battle your snoring problem.

Steps

  1. Get An Extra Pillow
  2. At times learning how to stop snoring is as simple as buying an extra pillow. The reason? Sometimes when we sleep, the neck tends to collapse either to the front or to the back. This constricts the normal airways and causes you to start snoring. By getting an extra pillow, you elevate your head, making it less prone to being thrown back or to the front. This is turn relaxes and frees your airways, making it much easier to breathe.
  3. A while ago, sleeping on your back was a common way to learn how to stop snoring. But studies have shown that this isn't the best option if you are obese. If you are overweight, sleeping on your back puts an added strain on your neck muscles, making it difficult to breathe. Unfortunately, obesity in itself is a factor that causes snoring and losing weight is usually the best way to get to the root of the problem.
  4. A Team Effort
  5. Even if you are learning how to stop snoring, it's not something that will happen overnight. Especially if you have conditioned yourself to sleep in certain positions, it might take some time for you to get used to new ways of sleeping. It can be very helpful to get your partner involved in your anti-snoring strategies. Not only will you partner be helping you, he or she will also be helping themselves get a good night's sleep. If you start snoring in the middle of the night, your partner can give you a gentle nudge in the shoulder or back. This usually stops the snoring and allows the sleeper to resettle.
  6. Usually, it's the position of the pillow that triggers a snoring fit. If a person starts to snore, give the pillow a brief but very strong tug. If possible, you can try to roll the person to their side, to stop them from snoring. Another option is to gently hold their nose closed- this will automatically cause them to start breathing through their mouth, stopping the snoring.
  7. Get a Slumber Guard Anti-snoring Device - it comes with a Money Back Guarantee and holds the lower jaw in a forward position so that it doesn't collapse into the throat, causing the snoring sound.
  8. Buy a SnoreMed Anti Snoring Mouthpiece that is a comfortable to wear, custom shaped mouth piece that holds the lower jaw forward during sleep to open your airway passage and eliminate snoring in 85% of users. It is recommended by dentists and doctors.

Tips

  • If you are a heavy drinker and smoker, these are probably contributing to your snoring problem as well. Cutting them out, at least before you go to bed can greatly reduce your snoring problem. It will also do wonders for your overall health and that's always a welcome initiative. Learning how to stop snoring can be a step to better health and better sleeping for everyone.

Stop Snoring Using Anti Snore Exercises

If you and your spouse suffer from horrible snoring, You are not alone. 23% couples suffer seriously from this terrible condition.

The problem isn't just the irritation of staying awake the whole night or waking up from a souse's elbow over and over again. Not getting enough rest is simple life threatening.

It is life threatening for example when you loose your focus in a heavy traffic during the day. In our modern world, loosing focus for few seconds is a straight way to an accident.

It’s also life threatening because your whole emotional and physical balance will suffer. Nerves breakdown, stroke, and heart-attack are only three examples.

You can’t blame your self or your partner. You’ve probably tried several things to eliminate the snoring but nothing helped. I’ve had many clients who undertook expensive, dangerous surgery, only to find them self worse off afterwards.

To be able to cure your snoring, you must know what causes it.

Snoring is always caused by some kind of blockage in the breathing passage.

When the breathing passage is blocked, the airflow (breathing) becomes irregular, not smoothly flowing like it should be.

It can be very complicated to cure snoring despite the fact, it only has one main cause. The reason is that the blocks vary so much. And what’s worse, most people have more than one type of block, causing their snoring.

Here are just few examples of what can cause your snoring…

2) Weak tongue also falls into the throat and block it. This is very common if you sleep on your back but can also happen when sleeping on your site.

3) Tense jaw muscles put pressure on the breathing passages. This is what many dentist try to deal with by putting in dental implant. An easier way to avoid this is loosing up and relaxing the jaw muscles.

4) I mentioned the soft palate before. If it is weak, then it will flap around more easily and make the snoring sound. Notice that most of the time, the soft palate is not too big. It’s too weak.

4)The Soft palate may be too weak and not firm enough and will lay too close to the tongue, making it very easy to flap around and make the irritating snoring sounds.

6) Finally, anything that builds up in your throat will work as a dam for your breathing passage. The most common dams are fat or cigarette tags in the throat or allergy in the nasals.

So How Can You Get Rid of the Blocks That Cause Your Snoring ?

I guess when you look at it, it’s just a common sense. I’ve found that you can train this part of your body like any other part. Working out the breathing passages.

Using few exercises, each focused on one area in and around your throat, will remove ANY block you have. No matter what’s causing your snoring.

The simplicity of this is that no matter what blocks your breathing passage, the same few exercises will cure you.

Training the tongue will strengthen in and by doing that, prevent it from dropping into your throat when you sleep.

Loosing up the Jaw, using the jaw exercises will remove any tension from it. You’ll be surprised how much easier you’ll breath after you do the Jaw exercises.

The throat exercises open up the throat, preventing it from closing when you sleep. They’ll also strengthen and lift up your soft palate, so it won’t flap any more.

It’s about working smart not hard.

You make the choice how many minutes a day you want to train. The minimal time is only 3 minutes.

How long you exercise every day is up to you. You can train for as little as three minutes a day.

For quick permanent results, I recommend taking the program that requires ten minutes a day commitment.

It varies a lot between people how quickly the exercises work. I recommend that you be ready to work the program for two months. The program will most likely stop your snoring quicker than that. But if you’re ready to give it full blast for two months, you’re guaranteed to cure your self.

And you should be ready to commit for about two months to permanently cure your snoring. Although most likely you will have quiet nights long before those two months are up.

I hope I’ll soon receive your success story. I love nothing more than opening my email in the morning and reading the stories on how my clients healed them selves using my exercises.

How To Stop Snoring By Using Anti Snoring Mouthpiece

Mouthpiece devices[1] are also known as dental appliances, or mandibular advancement splints. They have been effective for many snorers, including those suffering from mild or moderate obstructive sleep apnea, in fact they have been in use for the last 10 years and clinical trials have reported an 85% success rate. They are small plastic devices worn in the mouth during sleep to prevent the soft throat tissues from collapsing and obstructing the airway. They do this by bringing your lower jaw forward and/or by lifting your soft palate.

Steps

  1. Place the mouthpiece in the upright position as in diagram
  2. Insert the spatula into the holes in the front of the mouthpiece
  3. Practice moving your bottom jaw forward and find a comfortable forward position.
Moulding Instructions:
  1. Boil the water.
  2. Pour the water into the container or remove the pot from the heat source. Hold the mouthpiece using the spatula (be aware of the mouthpiece upright position).
  3. Place the mouthpiece in the boiled water for 12 seconds. The mouthpiece will appear clear and the plastic will be soft.
  4. Place the mouthpiece into your mouth (the right way up) still holding the mouthpiece by the spatula.
  5. Push your lower jaw forward and bite down hard. Suck the air out and use your fingers to push the plastic against your teeth to produce a firm custom fit.
  6. Use your tongue to push from the other side. Remove the mouthpiece and hold it in cold water to set the shape.
  7. You can now remove the spatula from the mouthpiece.

Tips

  • It may take a few nights to get accustomed to sleeping with the mouthpiece.
  • If you do not stop snoring completely, remould with your jaw extended a little further forward.

Warnings
  • Sleep apnea

Things You'll Need

  • A Clear surface near to where the water will be boiled.
  • Choose a kettle or a pot to boil water.
  • If you have chosen a kettle, then you will need a container or mug deep enough to submerge the mouthpiece.
  • You will need a watch, clock or timing device which can measure in seconds.

How to Stop Snoring Part 2?

If you're a snorer in your household, you're probably getting a lot more sleep than anyone who can hear you. Try the following preventative measures. Changing your sleep position or using an oral anti-snoring device may be all it takes, but for many people a bigger project - namely losing weight - is often the real key to tranquil nights.

Steps

1. Buy yourself a few extra pillows and prop yourself up in bed, rather than lying flat on your back. You'll prevent the tissues in your throat from falling into your air passages.

2. Raise the head of your bed. An easy way to do it is to place several flat boards under the legs at the top end of the bed. A couple of old phone books under each leg should also raise the bed enough to do the trick.

3. Sleep on your side. Of course, there's no guarantee you'll stay in that position, but at least start on your side with your arms wrapped around a pillow. There's a good reason you don't want to sleep on your back: in that position, your tongue and soft palate rest against the back of your throat, blocking the airway.

3. Try taking a decongestant or antihistamine if nasal congestion is causing your snoring. Use these only as a temporary measure if you suspect that a cold or allergy is to blame. Prolonged use of either can be harmful.

4. Tape your nose open with nasal strips, available at most pharmacies . They may look odd, but who's looking? Following the directions on the package, tape one of the strips to the outside of your nose before you fall asleep. They work by lifting and opening your nostrils to increase airflow.

6. Gargle with a peppermint mouthwash to shrink the lining of your nose and throat. This is especially effective if your snoring is a temporary condition caused by a head cold or an allergy. To mix up the herbal gargle...

Add 1 drop of peppermint oil to a glass of cold water. (Only gargle - do not swallow).

7. Change your sheets and pillowcases often to relieve nasal stuffiness, alleviate bedroom allergens. Try to vacuum your floors and curtains often too.

8. Try drinking nettle tea. Herbalists recommend it for soothing the inflammation caused by pollen allergies. To make the tea:

Pour a cup of boiling water over 1 tablespoon of dried leaf.

Cover the tea and let it steep for 5 minutes.
Strain and drink.
Drink up to 3 cups a day, 1 cup just before your bedtime.

9. There are variety of Snoring devices to be purchased online.

10. Mouthpiece devices -- also known as dental appliances, or mandibular advancement splints -- have been effective for many snorers, including those suffering from mild or moderate obstructive sleep apnea. They are usually small plastic devices worn in the mouth during sleep to prevent the soft throat tissues from collapsing and obstructing the airway. They do this by bringing your lower jaw forward and/or by lifting your soft palate. Some devices also stop the tongue from falling back over your windpipe. An affordable and very effective one that has been proven to work for many is AntiSnore. They can be found on Amazon (search Anti Snore) and Ebay (search snore relief).

Tips
  • Learn and research for those things that work best for others. It is very important to learn from others in order not to repeat their huge mistakes. The best way would be through discussions, forum, rating programs, health communities (such as health.communispot.com), etc.
  • Use Liddell's Snore Defense to ease snoring intensity and occurrence.
  • Work your throat muscles - There are few exercises for the throat muscle that help leaving airways open. It can save you from having a painful surgery.
  • If hugging a pillow doesn't help, you can tackle the problem with using a tennis ball. Sew a little pouch on the back of a top and tuck a tennis ball inside. At night, if you start to roll onto your back while you're asleep, you'll get a nudge from the ball, prompting you to get back on your side.
  • Lose Weight! Weight loss can reduce your snoring by easing any constriction of the upper airway.
  • Do mouthpieces work? A recent study in Switzerland found oral appliances effective in treating sleep apnea. Side effects were only "mildly disturbing": mucosal dryness (86% of patients), tooth discomfort (59%), and excessive salivation (55%). Long-term use may cause dental misalignments requiring corrective orthodontia work.
  • Consider the underlying cause. Discuss with your physician the possibility of a sleep disorder which may be more serious than just the snoring. The current gold standard for obstructive sleep apnea treatment is a CPAP device which opens the airway with pressurized air delivered through a mask or a nose-mounted appliance.
  • Quit Smoking. Tobacco smoke irritates mucous membranes, so your throat swells, narrowing the airway. Smokers also have more problems with nasal congestion.
  • If you regularly take any kind of medication, talk to your doctor about alternatives. Some drugs can make snoring worse, including sleeping pills and sedatives.
  • There is surgery available now if your snoring problem is a function of sleep apnea.
  • Some people sleep with tennis ball on their back underneath the shirt in which they are sleeping so they don't roll on back because that position would be too uncomfortable.

Warnings
  • Don't eat a heavy meal or drink alcoholic beverages within 3 hours of going to bed. Both can cause your throat muscles to relax more than normal.
  • Make sure you wait a little while after you make your tea;You don't want your tea to be too hot.
